Bitter Seeds review – now at a podcast near you

Those that follow Antipodean SF will know that the editor, Nuke, also does a podcast where all the stories are read out, usually by the authors themselves.

The recent review I did of Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis was narrated by yours truly on the latest edition of the podcast. It kicks in at around the 44m mark.

Enjoy!

Story narrated on Beam Me Up podcast/radio

One of my earlier flash fiction pieces, Shipwrecked – originally published on the Antipodean SF online publication, was selected by Paul Cole for inclusion in his weekly US based radio show/podcast, Beam Me UpShipwrecked is included in episode 323 and can be found towards the end of the podcast (it closes out the show – the story kicks in just before the 53 minute mark).

It was great to hear that one of my stories had some appeal to a US market, and Paul was very generous with his time in recording the story (soundtrack and all!).

For those that are interested, the original text for Shipwrecked is linked to from my bibliography page.

Narration news – Antipodean SF 167 alpha

Episode 167 alpha of the Antipodean SF radio show is now out. No stories from me, but I did narrate Have to Learn the Hard Way by Stephen L Thompson, a short flash fiction piece about the future dangers of downloading a virus.

Many thanks to Stephen for providing his story for me to narrate.

Narration news – The Gift by Mick Dawson

I’ve lent my voice to the Antipodean SF podcast again, this time reading The Gift by Mick Dawson on episode 164 beta. If you’re reading this after Feburary 2012 you can read the story online the Antipodean SF archive.

Mick’s bio starts at about the 2 minute 40 second mark, and my narration begins at approximately 3 minutes 10 seconds. Nuke introduces me as “Anti SF’s heroically voiced Mark Webb”. That’s a lot to live up to!

Thanks to Mick for the chance to read his story and I hope he is not disappointed with the outcome!

More narration – Everything Old is New Again by Nicole Rendall

Once again I’ve lent my voice to the Antipodean SF podcast, this time reading Everything Old is New Again by Nicole Rendall on episode 164 alpha. If you’re reading this after Feburary 2012 you can read the story online the Antipodean SF archive.

The host of the radio show, Nuke, begins to read Nicole’s bio at about the 4 minute 30 second mark, and my narration begins at about 5 minutes 15 seconds.

I enjoyed the story and had a lot of fun recording it. My thanks to Ms Rendall, it is always a bit nerve wracking to try and do justice to someone else’s creative endeavour. Hope she isn’t disappointed!
