So, what have I been reading this month? As it turns out, not very much.<\/p>\n

As mentioned in last month’s wrap up, I tackled King Rat<\/em> by China Mieville – my first Mieville read and quite good. I can see why people love his use of language. There were times where it felt a little self consciously fancy, but generally speaking it was enviably crunchy in its ability to evoke emotion in a really visceral way. I enjoyed it very much.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, I haven’t read very much at all. I started\u00a0Winter Be My Shield<\/em> by Jo Spurrier (which will be a full review for the Australian Women Writers Challenge) and\u00a0Auxiliary\u00a0Justice\u00a0<\/em>by Ann Leckie (to see what all the fuss is about), but I haven’t finished either of them.<\/p>\n
